With its development of polyester base film in 1985, Kolon entered the
film business, making rapid and continued progress by diversifying its
product lines into nylon film, DFR(Dry Film Photoresist) Film.
Kolon R&D Center currently develops various films for audio-visual
tape, electric insulation, metallized film for metallic yarn, matte film,
WBPPC (Water Based Pain Paper Copier),easy dyeable film and DFR.
We have developed a series of chemically treated PET films for many
applications, in 1998. It is available to meet cutomer's diverse
demands with a wide variety of chemicals.
Kolon R&D Center is developing and producing high grade magnetic
products to satisfy diverse customers, and developing 8mm and S-VHS
tape for camcorder use.

KCRI(KOLON Central R&D Institute) is researching and developing PEN
Film, High-Performance advanced material films and Composite film and
these endeavours will strengthen the polymer and film business of KOLON.
KCRI is conducting Film application research with the other companies in
the KOLON Group and has developed Outdoor Flex and Marking film,
PET Film Base Flex, Color Ink-jet transparency film and Solar control Film which
used for cars and building and KCRI has commercialized them.
